This Privacy Policy explains how Dachshund Development LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our website and our applications, including Keepway (collectively, the "Services"). By using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the Services:
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique account identifier and basic profile details such as your display name and, where provided, your email address. We do not collect or store passwords.
- Content you create. Trips, journal entries, notes, and the photos you upload. Photos and entries may include location coordinates and place names that you add.
- Location data. When you tag a place in a journal entry, we store the coordinates and place name associated with that entry. This is data you enter or select; the app does not track your location in the background.
- Device and notification data. A push-notification token used to deliver notifications about your trips, and basic technical information (such as device type and app version) needed to operate and troubleshoot the app.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To store, display, and sync your trips, journal entries, and photos.
- To enable collaboration when you invite others to a shared trip.
- To send push notifications you have opted into, such as when a collaborator adds an entry to a trip you are part of.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only as follows:
- With people you choose. Content you add to a shared trip is visible to the collaborators you invite to that trip.
- With service providers. We use trusted third-party infrastructure to run the Services, including Microsoft Azure (data hosting, database, and photo storage), Apple and Google (sign-in), and Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notification delivery). These providers process data only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons. When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and Services.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Photos are stored in Azure Blob Storage and delivered through short-lived, signed access links; the app itself never holds long-term storage credentials. We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete an entry, trip, or your account, we delete the associated content from our active systems, subject to routine backups and any retention required by law.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- You can edit or delete your trips, journal entries, and photos within the app.
- You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
